FlyOn Airport Jacket: Can It Replace Your Carry-On?

FlyOn Airport Jacket: Can It Replace Your Carry-On?

You find a cheap flight and start planning your trip. Then you reach the baggage section.
A cabin bag costs extra. Priority boarding costs extra.

And if your bag is too large at the gate, it may cost even more. Suddenly, your luggage costs more than the flight itself.

An airport jacket offers another way to travel: instead of packing your clothes into a separate carry-on, you wear them.

What Is an Airport Jacket?

An airport jacket, also known as wearable luggage, is a travel jacket designed with internal pockets for clothing and other essentials.

Unlike an ordinary jacket, its pockets are positioned across different areas of the garment to distribute the contents around the body.

Wear To Fly created the FlyOn Jacket with 14 internal pockets and capacity for up to 7kg. The idea is simple: pack it, wear it and travel without dragging an additional bag through the airport.

How Does the FlyOn Jacket Work?

Clothing is folded or rolled and distributed between the jacket’s pockets. Smaller pockets can hold your passport, phone, wallet and chargers, while larger pockets can carry clothing, toiletries and compact shoes.

For a more comfortable fit, heavier items should be placed in the lower pockets and the weight should be balanced between both sides. Hard or structured items can also be packed, but they work best in the lower front pockets. They may make the jacket look fuller and less streamlined, so the final silhouette will depend on what you choose to carry.

You do not need to fill every pocket or carry the maximum 7kg. The jacket can be packed according to the length and purpose of each trip.

What Can You Pack Inside?

The exact amount depends on the season and the thickness of your clothing. A typical packing list could include:

• T-shirts and lightweight tops
• Trousers, leggings or shorts
• Underwear and socks
• Sleepwear
• A lightweight sweater
• Compact shoes or sandals
• Toiletries
• Chargers and travel adapters
• A passport, wallet and phone

Depending on what you pack, the FlyOn Jacket can carry enough for approximately 7–10 days of travel.

Can It Replace Your Carry-On?

For many short and medium-length trips, yes.

The FlyOn Jacket can be especially useful for city breaks, frequent flights and journeys with airlines that charge separately for cabin baggage. It keeps your hands free and removes the need to pull a suitcase through the airport or wait at baggage reclaim.

However, it will not replace every suitcase. If you need to carry fragile equipment, bulky winter clothing or formal garments, traditional luggage may still be the better option.

Can You Wear It on a Plane?

The FlyOn Jacket is worn as clothing rather than carried as a separate suitcase. FlyOn customers have travelled with airlines including Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling and Spirit Airlines.

Airline policies and individual decisions at the airport can vary, so travelers should always check the latest rules before flying.

At airport security, the jacket is removed and placed in a tray, just like a coat or bag. Electronics, liquids and restricted items must still follow the usual airport security requirements.

Travel Light, Literally

An airport jacket will not replace every suitcase for every traveler. But for frequent flyers and trips where a traditional carry-on feels unnecessary, it offers a practical alternative.

The FlyOn Jacket is not only about potentially saving money on baggage fees. It is also about keeping your hands free, carrying fewer separate items and moving through the airport more easily.

Instead of asking how much luggage you can bring, ask a different question:

How much of your luggage can you wear?
